Yoga Essentials Set vs Buying Separately: What You Save

Category: Buying Guides
Compare the cost and convenience of a yoga essentials set versus buying a mat and bottle individually. See if the bundle saves you money and fits your practice.
Quick answer
If you want a coordinated mat and bottle from the start, a yoga essentials set saves you money and hassle. Buying separately gives you more color and size options but usually costs more.
Why a set saves you money
Eco Black's yoga essentials sets bundle a natural rubber mat with a matching stainless steel bottle at a price lower than buying each item individually. The catalog comparison price of $127.99 drops to $94.71 for most sets, a saving of over $33. The Lemon Sorbet set is even more affordable at $85.75.
What you give up with a set
Sets lock you into one color and one mat size (24" x 68", 3 mm thick). If you prefer a different mat thickness, a larger mat, or a bottle in a finish not offered in the set, buying separately is the only route. The set's convenience comes at the cost of customization.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Bundle savings: Sets save $33 to $42 over individual purchases, based on the catalog comparison price.
- Color and size limits: Sets offer one mat size (24" x 68", 3 mm thick) and one bottle color per option. No mix-and-match. If you need a thicker mat or a different bottle finish, skip the set.
- Convenience factor: The set arrives with a carrying strap and both items ready to use. No separate shopping decisions. Great for new practitioners or anyone who wants a complete kit in one order.
